Xnet have a unique approach to buying data, offering Internet users the ability to design their own broadband plan based on their individual needs and budget. No more paying for blocks of data that you may never use!
You can set your own data cap to meet your own needs. You can either choose to set your own data cap to control exactly how much you want to use to suit your budget or leave your connection ‘un-throttled’. If you do set a cap, once you hit your data cap, you will be slowed down – if you do not hit your data cap or do not set one, you only pay for what you use – either way you win!
If you hit your cap during the month, you can add more online in real time, or if you are away on holiday reduce your cap to reduce your expenditure.
As a bonus Xnet Broadband plans measure all National and International data usage. Local traffic is FREE! This means that all email, Xnet VFX (our digital voice phone line service) and Xnet hosted content and game servers such as Recoil and Gameplanet do not count towards a customer’s data usage.

Download the Xnet Usage Monitor and you will see how much data you are using real time. Use this to track against your data cap and budget that you have set, or use it to change you data cap when you are getting close.

Managed Data Usage allows you to create a capped plan
Select Managed Data Usage and drag the slider to a point that suits you based on either your budgeted monthly spend or your monthly data requirements.
You can also enter values directly into the "$", "GB" or "MB" fields to help you decide on what option suits your needs the best.
You will get billed for your base plan and for any data that you use at 0.125 cents per MB ($1.28 per GB) up to the Managed Data Usage threshold.
You will not be billed for any usage beyond the Managed Data Usage but your speed will be reduced to 64Kbps/64Kbps for the rest of the month.
If you want to change your Managed Data Usage prior to the end of the month, simply login to the self service portal and tweak your plan accordingly.
Unlimited Data Usage allows you to create an uncapped plan
Select Unlimited Data Usage if you do not want a monthly usage cap.
You will be billed for your base plan and for any data that you use at 0.125 cents per MB ($1.28 per GB).
Please note:
- Local data, data used by Xnet’s VFX service and free services such as iSky, are not counted in your data usage;
- All data is charged at $1.28 per GB;
- Usage indicators are approximate only.
